Vanadinite was considered to be a rare mineral.
Discovered by Andrés Manuel del Rio, in the year 1830, in Zimapán (Mexico).
It is a very heavy but brittle mineral.
It is normally transparent or translucent.
Its crystals can lose their shine and transparency if they are exposed to light.
